A new music video has been released by Doc Jazz, to both his Youtube channel and his Facebook page. It’s in Spanish this time, and the title of the song is ‘Fabulosa’. It is not a Doc Jazz original, but a cover song. It was performed by Los Machucambos in the late 60’s or early 70’s, and was originally written by A. Guijarro and J. Solá.

Although Doc Jazz has been familiar with Spanish music since his childhood, this is the first time he has ever released a song in that language.

Another first

It’s also the first time that we can see Doc Jazz playing all the instruments live, for the recording. This has become a popular type of music video nowadays, but Doc Jazz has never done it before.

Doc Jazz is not lip-syncing the vocals, or miming on the instruments. This is the actual live recording, where the signal was recorded simultaneously on audio and video. A more difficult way of recording than the usual studio take, as you have to play the song from beginning until the end, without there being any room for major mistakes.

Covers vs originals

As Doc Jazz has mostly focused on writing his own songs, it is unusual to have him release a cover song. All in all, this is quite a special release, and underlines the wide variety of his musical interests and skills.

Those who are closer to him, such as family and friends, are aware of this, and know that he has a large repertoire of covers. If this music video goes down well with the audience, there may be more cover releases on the way!
