This review was published yesterday by the music blog More More Sound from Sweden.

Doc Jazz is a dynamic, diverse and unpredictable musical artist with a fondness for jazz, fusion, pop, blues and funk in equal doses.

This artist and song-writer creates, performs and produces his own material,  showcasing an incredibly kaleidoscopic attitude, refusing to remain stuck in a box and striving to keep his music eclectic, yet immediate and easy to relate to.

Moreover, the music of Doc Jazz is so much more than simple entertainment. The lyrics, in fact, are all about social commentary and sensible issues such as the Palestinian cause; a real musical intifada, where arguments aren’t won with bombs and firearms, but through thoughtful words, inspirational lyrics and beautiful sound that anybody could find appealing.

Doc Jazz set out to build a solid following, particularly through the world wide web. His fans managed to offer support and dedication, following this artist’s music as well as his interesting and compelling blog posts about the Palestinian cause.

The idea behind the project is simple, yet extremely remarkable: using good music to hopefully raise awareness about this political and cultural stand-off that is affecting the area. It’s all about the message: Doc Jazz works hard to spree the world about a issue that is obviously extremely near to his heart, brain and sensibility.

Such issues are often associated with dramatic imagery, but on the other hand, Doc Jazz’s sounds inspire positivity and open mindedness. The uplifting vibes of his melodies, as well as the eclectic musical directions are definitely great metaphors of how problems could (and should) be solved out there in the world.

It might not be an obvious factor to the average music listener out there, but the truth is that,  in our times – the day and age of internet and social medias – the bridge between artists and listeners is getting shorter and shorter. A few years ago it would have been almost unconceivable for an artist to build a concept and share it with the world through the web, sparking significant enthusiasm and positivity. Doc Jazz is a living proof that great things can be achieved whenever a project is animated by heart, guts and brains in equal doses. This music is passionate and colourful, yet smart and insightful.
