New album INTIFADA has been released!

Today, the Musical Intifada is happy to announce the release of the new Doc Jazz CD ‘INTIFADA’. It will become available on Amazon soon!

As you can see, Doc Jazz’s musical activism is going through a period of increased intensity. This new album release comes only a week ahead of Doc Jazz’s first ever cross-Atlantic performance, namely at PCRF’s Healing Hands Gala on October 13th in Anaheim, California. Not only is this the first time that Doc Jazz performs in the USA; the release of the album also shows signs of reaching out to new audiences in new countries, considering that the first offline sales of the album will be through a distributor in Lyon, France. More information on this will be made available soon.

So, what’s up with this new album?

If you look at the two most recent albums released before this new one, Front Door Key and inSURGency, you will notice that Doc Jazz used a blend of both activist and non-activist songs in the song lists. This album however is entirely devoted to the Palestinian struggle, and therefore is appropriately called “INTIFADA”, starting with the title song. ‘Intifada’ is not only the song that kicked off the Musical Intifada project towards the end of 2001, but is also Doc Jazz’s most popular and well-known track.

One of the songs is quite new, and was only released a couple of weeks ago: “Healing Hands”. You can read more about this new release elsewhere on the website. Some of the other songs have never been featured on an album before, such as “Right of Return”, “We Resist (Free Palestine)”, “Justice Leads the Way” and the two Arabic songs “Undhor” and “Falasteen (al 3alam)”.

This new album can be viewed as a “Best of” album that compiles together the most popular tracks of Doc Jazz, and ensures that you will be kept in an atmosphere of positive action and struggle throughout the whole CD. Perhaps you already have most of these songs, but if this stops you from buying it you are overlooking the fact that buying this album as a gift to a friend can be one of the most effective ways of gaining their interest for the Palestinian cause.

Pro-Palestine activists will also appreciate the album artwork because of its symbolism – buy it to see it, but the CD (i.e. the disc) itself is printed with the famous pattern of the “Kuffiyeh” or “7atta” – can it get any better than that?

All in all, this is a must-have not only for Doc Jazz fans, but for those around the world who support the Palestinian people in their just struggle for justice and liberation. Like the slogan in the song ‘Intifada’, the message is, as always: NEVER GIVE UP!
