You may or may not have heard it yet, but Khader Adnan, the Palestinian who ignited an intifada of Palestinian hunger strikers in 2012, is on hunger strike again, and has entered his second month of going without food, without vitamins, and without salt. The Musical Intifada has provided you with a timer to help you keep count of the length of his hunger strike (see at the end of this post).

Now that his health condition has become critical, activists for the Palestinian cause are gearing up for another round of protests for the cause of thousands of Palestinian political prisoners, detained in prisons of the Israeli occupation under abominable conditions, often without charge or trial. Khader Adnan’s first hunger strike led to a widespread intifada of Palestinian political prisoners going on hunger strike in his footsteps, most notably Hanaa Al Shalabi, Mahmoud Al Sarsak, and Samer Issawi. It is expected that Khader’s second hunger strike will again spark widespread protests, and a possible new wave of hunger strikers.

Khader Adnan started his second hunger strike on May 5, 2015. Here is a collection of useful links that give you more in-depth information about the backgrounds and details of his situation:
