Security question: how many days are there in a week? Don't type the word, just the number.

NUI$ance or not, money can't change the truth

Day in day out, Palestinians all over the world and their supporters are investing their time, resources and energy into getting the word out about the grave injustices that are being perpetrated against the Palestinian people by the Zionist state. The Zionists have now - yet again - decided to respond by reaching deeper into their wallets, as was recently revealed by Ali Abunimah of the Electronic Intifada.

The results of pro-Palestinian efforts, although relatively poorly funded, are baffling and ground-breaking. There are many causes of injustice against people all over the world, but activism for the Palestinian cause operates at its own unique and unparalleled level.

Amazing activists for Palestine

For the sake of Palestine, people from all over the world did everything they could to organize several flotillas trying to break the horrendous siege of Gaza, making world headlines and affecting international relations in a very profound way. People from all over the world regularly travel to Palestine, mostly paying from their own pockets, to engage in activities like planting olive trees and protesting non-violently against the Apartheid wall that 'Israel' has built in the Palestinian territories. Worldwide, people are relentless in investing time and energy into organizing a boycott of the Zionist state, as part of their Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) efforts.

Many reasons can be summed up to explain why activism for the Palestinian cause takes such ground-breaking and historic proportions. This is not only due to the fact that this is such a long-standing injustice. One of the other  and more important reasons is that there has rarely been a conflict in history where right and wrong were so clearly defined and utterly obvious.

Might is right?

Only people or communities who have a direct political, economical or perceived religious benefit from choosing the Israeli side, do so. For everyone else in the world, the choice is a no-brainer: the Palestinians have been and still are being wronged in a horrendous way, and this injustice forms a dirty stain on the collective conscience of humanity. The majority of the people in the world community have decided they now wish to permanently remove this stain by undoing the injustice.

From the beginning of its existence, the Zionist state has had the advantage of having the world's Western superpowers behind its creation, in order to serve their geo-political, economical and strategic interests. It is for this reason that the populations of Northern America, Western Europe and Australia have been subjected to a deep brainwash from their childhood onwards. An elaborate system that permeates schoolbooks, state doctrines and cultural outlets such as the movie industry, has been utilizing the historical guilt of the horrors of the Holocaust to create a reflex of automatic endorsement of the Zionist state through emotional and psychological blackmail.

However, as more than half a century has passed since the victimization of European Jews in the Second World War, this system of distorting the truth about the theft of Palestinian land and the expulsion of the Palestinians has been starting to show some serious cracks. As is usually the case with lies, the truth has been catching up with them as time passed. This, in turn, is currently causing the Zionist propaganda-machine to switch into a heightened state of alert and activity.

Zionist desperation

The National Union of Israeli Students (NUIS) has launched a program to pay Israeli university students $2,000 to spread pro-Israel propaganda online for 5 hours per week from the “comfort of home.” Together with the Jewish Agency, there will also be programs that send Israeli students on missions to spread propaganda in other countries, also with the necessary funds and financial rewards.

These efforts are further co-sponsored by Haifa University, Tel Aviv University, Ben-Gurion University and Sapir College.

Nevertheless, it can easily be predicted that these efforts will not yield any increased success for Zionist propaganda. True, as the acronym already predicts, this new well-paid wave of propagandists will undoubtedly be a 'NUISance', if only because of the often nauseating and racist gall that Zionists put on display in their efforts to distort the truth. The only compliment they might be deserving of is their incredible imagination in inventing myths and stories to defend the indefensible.

Money can't change the truth

Nevertheless, they are bound to be confronted with the fact that money can do many things, but it cannot change the truth. The often penniless pro-Palestine activists are not motivated by financial reasons, but by their dedication to opposing injustice, and this resource can never be depleted. Therefore, the message to Israeli propagandists is: pay your students $8,000 instead of $2,000 or even pay them tenfold, it will not make even the slightest difference.

There will be many more flotillas, there will be many more international solidarity activists, there will be much more internet activism, there will be continuous non-violent demonstrations and there will eventually be an international boycott of 'Israel' on the economical, academic and cultural level.

It is inevitable, it is on its way, and it is becoming stronger every day. We can only encourage Zionist propagandists to break their own banks by throwing all their money into this bottomless pit. Their hopeless and desperate efforts will prove to be worthless in the face of our struggle, which is only motivated by Justice - and Justice does not need a wallet.
